Leap Wireless has launched a new USB broadband modem through its subsidiary Cricket Wireless that works in the AWS spectrum.
The modem, the Cricket A600, is the second modem that Cricket has introduced since launching broadband service in 2008. The modem features a rotatable USB hinge, a microSD memory slot for removable memory and embedded connection manager software.
The device is now available in Cricket stores for $69.99. Cricket's broadband service is $35 per month for current Cricket customers and $40 per month as a standalone service.
Leap has made an aggressive push in the broadband space since last summer. In fact, when Leap reported its fourth quarter results last week, it said its decline in ARPU was primarily due to the continuing growth of the broadband service.
